Cost and timing

UAE attestation cost calculator

Short answer

Choose the MoFAIC classification and number of documents to calculate the published UAE-side fee. Personal and educational documents are AED 150 each; commercial documents are AED 2,000 each. The transaction charge is AED 3 plus 2%. Embassy, issuing-country, translation and courier fees remain separate because no universal figure exists.

Calculate the published UAE-side fee

This calculates MoFAIC and its transaction charge. It does not invent an embassy, translation or home-country fee.

MoFAIC document fees AED 150.00

Transaction charge: AED 3 + 2% AED 6.00

Published UAE-side total AED 156.00

A power of attorney can be AED 150 or AED 2,000 depending on its content. MoFAIC decides borderline classifications at submission.

What the result means

The result is the part of an attestation quote that can be calculated without guessing. MoFAIC publishes one tariff for personal and educational documents and another for commercial documents. It also publishes the transaction charge. Those inputs are stable enough to put into arithmetic.

The rest of the chain is not one tariff. A document issued abroad can pass through an issuing authority, foreign ministry, UAE mission, courier and translator before MoFAIC sees it. Each institution sets its own price and some publish no current figure. This calculator shows those lines as exclusions instead of filling them with an average that may be wrong for your country.

Examples

DocumentsClassificationPublished UAE-side calculation
One birth certificatePersonalAED 150 + AED 6 = AED 156
Degree and transcriptEducational, two documentsAED 300 + AED 9 = AED 309
One commercial documentCommercialAED 2,000 + AED 43 = AED 2,043
MOA and AOACommercial, two documentsAED 4,000 + AED 83 = AED 4,083

The transaction charge is calculated once on the transaction: AED 3 plus 2 per cent of the document-fee subtotal. If a provider splits documents into separate transactions, ask how that changes the charges.

What no honest calculator can know from three fields

It cannot know whether the UAE mission abroad adds a separately payable leg, whether a long agreement will be treated as multiple documents, whether your power of attorney is commercial, or whether the receiving authority wants a translation. Those are document and corridor questions, not arithmetic questions.

Use the number above as a verified baseline. Then compare the quote line by line against the full attestation cost guide.

Common questions

What does the UAE attestation calculator include?
It includes the published MoFAIC document fee and its AED 3 plus 2 per cent transaction charge. It deliberately excludes the home-country authority, UAE embassy abroad, translation, courier and agent fees because those depend on the issuing country, mission, language and service route.
Why does a degree and transcript cost AED 300 before the transaction charge?
MoFAIC states that the educational certificate and transcript are treated as two different documents. Each is AED 150, making the document-fee subtotal AED 300 even when both relate to the same qualification.
Is a power of attorney AED 150 or AED 2,000?
It can be either. A personal power of attorney can fall in the AED 150 band; a power of attorney with commercial content falls in the AED 2,000 band. MoFAIC classifies borderline documents at submission, so the calculator cannot decide from the title alone.
Does the calculator include the UAE embassy fee?
No. UAE missions price services by mission and revise local-currency equivalents. The inbound question of whether the mission leg adds another AED 150 is not published consistently enough to calculate as a universal amount.
Can I use the result to check an agent quote?
Use it to identify the published MoFAIC component, then ask the agent to itemise every additional line: issuing authority, foreign ministry, UAE mission, courier, translation and service fee. A higher total is not automatically wrong, but an unexplained total cannot be checked.
